It did the cover system differently, and the games themselves are night and day. Take everything into account along with the cover system, and Gears took it to another level. The cover system is second nature to the player where you are reacting to your environment. It's not just a game mechanic. That's why Killswitch was good, but had way to many faults. In this respect Gears reminds me of WoW. Blizzard didn't invent MMO games, but they perfected it to the point that you can't compare many g...
I do like the fact that there is a ten year plan for Gears as a franchise. I wouldn't be surprised if we get some DLC and it comes in the form of some side missions or new game episode. Something for 2 with Microsoft keeping mum on titles for 2009. That would be cool, especially with Mass Effect 2 coming out next year. Also there is supposed to be some DLC for that game also. This year could all be online for Microsoft. More Gears is good by me.
If Microsoft didn't buy it, media have Xbox 360 controllers in their mouths. Yet let Killzone 2 get one bad review, and the world explodes. Anyway comparing Haze to Star Ocean 4 is so not credible especially for a publication that caters to an audience that loves RPG's. Point is Star Ocean got a good a score, and like most 360 games I'm looking forward to seeing the overall reviews.
I'll be playing this game day one, and when Killzone 2 comes out check the game out at my friends...
Worth it. If Microsoft will downgrade service if it's free. Then no it should be the cost they have it. You are paying for something that is honestly good service.
Will be on my PS3. Looks really good, and the fact that it's also action along with some of the ideas going in. Sounds like an MMO I'll enjoy. Now let's what Champions Online becomes. So far so good Jim "The Man" Lee...
That is bad because they are two different games, in two different genres. It's just that fanboys needs something to feel good about, so they judge it against the best the system has to offer. We always have to hear excuse after excuse when we see multiplatform titles and they look better on the Xbox 360. Like oh it's not exclusive so it doesn't count. Developers aren't using the system from the ground up. Then when you point out the fact that Killzone 2 has been in development far longer tha...
Let alone believe that. Halo series is everything you want Killzone series to be. Calling it overrated would mean that it hasn't lived up to any expectations and just was hype. You can't rewrite history with the success it has or the impact it's made. Halo 3 was a really good game. I remember the same thing being said about Halo 2. I mean look at the features. Forge alone puts the game in a different caliber then other shooters. It's the totality of it. Killzone looks good, but you can't do h...
I have seen, yeah Killzone 2 is a better looking game. I'm sorry, but you can not discount development time in creating a title. When it takes you four years of development, numerous studios pitching in to help you, and less game play features then no you are not the better game. When did you hear about other studios helping Bungie to get any Halo game up and running or good? Never. We have to hear about Sony creating an engine to use across titles because the heavy investment. With the 360 ...
Project Offset was announced as PC and Xbox 360 game. Most people who have paid attention to it's progress know this, and the Intel purchase. That purchase was for them to work on Intel new graphic chipset and tools mainly for developers. The team that created Project Offset were sought out, because of their talent. This is a great progression for them, and when they pull this game from behind the curtain we are going to be floored by its graphics. If the gameplay is stunning this could be co...
Sweet move. They won't have to worry about tech, and can really research where they want to go with game design. Timespliters could be something special using that amazing engine.
From everything I've read and seen I'm impressed and look forward to downloading the episode. If it's really good, I can't wait for the second and hopefully more down the road.
PS3 predictions haven't panned out this generation. I mean we are February and people are talking about exclusives just like early 2008. Let's wait till something substantial is said. It's not like it would be a bad thing for the game to go to the PS3.
To be fun. I've stopped paying attention to Japan. Only for the reason that the market has shrunk, and they have taste that you can't argue with. It's what they like. So as a fan of JRPG's I want Star Ocean to be a game I enjoy.
